It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come in such a short time. Since opening our doors to students earlier this year, the Mandurah Universities Centre has quickly grown into a vibrant and supportive learning hub for local students from all walks of life.
From the first few registrations to our growing community of members across a wide range of tertiary institutions, we’re excited to see the MUC becoming part of everyday student life here in Mandurah.
New Faces, New Energy
If you’ve visited recently, you’ll have met Gabi, our Student Support Officer. Gabi’s here to help with everything from getting you settled in to linking you with the services or support you might need along the way. Whether it’s study tips, wellbeing support or just a friendly chat—she’s got your back.
Kim, our Director, continues to work behind the scenes (and often out front!) to make sure the Centre is running smoothly and building strong connections with our university partners, community organisations and support networks.

What’s New and What’s Coming Up
We’ve launched a few important initiatives recently to support students both academically and professionally.
Tutoring Now Available
We now offer a free tutoring service. If you’d like help with your coursework just fill out this form or want to express interest in being a tutor yourself then submit your details here.
☀️ Solar Panel Installation
From June 9 to 20, the Centre will be undergoing solar panel installation. This work is part of our commitment to sustainability, but please note that there may be some minor disruptions to power during this period. We’ll do our best to keep things running as smoothly as possible and will keep students informed.
Exam Support
We know it’s crunch time for many students. If you’re sitting online exams or assessments, remember that private study spaces can be booked in advance. Gabi is available if you need a hand with planning or just someone to check in with when things feel overwhelming.
🔁 Semester 2 Reconfirmation
Heading into the second half of the year? Make sure you reconfirm your enrolment and membership details to keep your 24/7 access active. It’s a quick process and helps us support you better.
Opportunities Outside the Classroom
🌱 Rocky Bay Placements
We’re excited to advise that Rocky Bay can offer meaningful placement opportunities for students in relevant fields. If you’re interested in real-world experience that makes a difference, get in touch with us for more details. At this time, they can offer the following placements: Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Allied Health Assistants. We’ve posted details to all registered students.
🧑🎓 Tell Us Your Story

Have you started using Mandurah Universities Centre for your studies? Found a quiet space that helped you focus? Had a great chat with Gabi or Kim that made your day? Met a new study buddy or nailed that assignment thanks to the extra screen?
We’re looking for good news stories from students using MUC to help us understand the impact we’re having – and to inspire others in the process.
Your voice matters, and your story might just be the encouragement someone else needs to take that next step in their education journey.
💬 Tell us your MUC story: big or small, we’d love to hear it.
We’re always looking for good news stories from our student community. Whether you’ve overcome a challenge, found your study groove, or made a connection through MUC, we’d love to hear about it.
🤖 Exploring the Future: AI in Learning

We’re excited to be sharing details about the Leading the Future AI conference on June 18 at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre that explores how artificial intelligence is changing education and work. We’re encouraging students to attend, contribute and think critically about the tools shaping their futures. PeelCCI are offering MUC members a significant discount ($60).
Mid-Year Break is Nearly Here
TAFE and university breaks are just around the corner. Whether you’re planning to catch up, get ahead, or take a well-earned rest, MUC will still be here. The Centre remains accessible 24/7 to registered students over 18, with staffed hours continuing on weekdays for those who need assistance. We’re also planning on organising some informal Meet and Greet sessions so you can meet other students and hear from some of our visitors who are also keen to see you do well. Stay tuned for details – we’ll email
Looking Ahead
As we move toward Semester 2, we’re continuing to build partnerships, improve our facilities, and make sure every student feels part of the MUC community. Thanks for being part of the journey so far—we’re just getting started.
If there’s anything you’d like to see at MUC, or if you’ve got a story or idea to share, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
See you around the Centre!
